As set out in the Partnership Framework of the Viet Nam One Health Partnership for Zoonoses (OHP) signed in Hanoi between the Government of Viet Nam and related national and international partners on 1 March 2016, one of the objectives of the OHP is to provide recommendations to decision makers on One Health policy, strategy and research projects in Vietnam, strengthening institutional capacity for implementation of One Health in public health protection.
On 5 February 2018, during her business trip to Ha Noi for strengthening cooperation in the human health sector between the United Kingdom and the Government of Viet Nam, Dame Sally Davies, Chief Medical Advisor to the UK Government, attended the inauguration ceremony of the National Reference Laboratory for AMR.
The Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) is an annual international conference focusing on policy-related health issues. The PMAC 2018 was co-hosted by the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation, the Thai Ministry of Public Health, Mahidol University, the World Health Organization, the World Bank, U.S. Agency for International Development, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and the Rockefeller Foundation, with support from other key related partners. The Conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 29 January – 3 February 2018 with the theme of “Making the World Safe from the Threats of Emerging Infectious Diseases”.
The SCOH2 project plans to mobilize 02 International Consultants and 02 National Consultants conduct a study in Lang Son and Dong Thap provinces to better understand the risks to health and related economic costs, from the interface among humans, livestock, and the environment and humans' behaviour and agriculture practices, and proposed interventions.
In line with the current Viet Nam One Health Strategic Plan for Zoonotic Diseases (OHSP), the SCOH 2 Project intends to mobilise a national consultant to support The National Agricultural Extension Centre (NAEC) to develop a One Health communication strategy for the national agricultural extension system for the period 2019 to 2023.
“One Health Academic Challenges: Preparing Today’s Workforce to Combat Tomorrow’s Infectious Diseases”, was organised by the Hà Nội Medical University, the Preventive Medicine and Public Health School and the Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN).
More than 100 representatives from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Member States, regional and international organizations, including ASEAN, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), and World Health Organization (WHO), donor agencies and other One Health partners have agreed to accelerate regional and country initiatives as they reiterated their commitment in tackling rabies during the ASEAN-Tripartite Rabies Meeting in Hanoi, 4-6 December.
UNDP Vietnam seeks 01 qualified local firm to provide a consulting service for a Case study on some aspects of One Health in Bac Giang province, Viet Nam (Ref. 2-180806).
SCOH2 project is looking for 03 National consultant as (i) The Lead Researcher expert, (ii) Social Research expert on Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) and (iii) Health Systems expert for a study on Rabies Pre- and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) work together for a Case study on human rabies prevention in Bac Giang province of Viet Nam, and recommendations to ensure achievement of the targets in the National Rabies Strategy 2017-2021 from provincial to local levels.
SCOH2 project is looking for 02 National consultants: (i) Lead Researcher and Environmental Health Expert (Institutional Assessment); (ii) Environmental Health Expert (Public Health/One Health): Case study on the role of the environmental sector in One Health in Bac Giang province of Viet Nam, and recommendations to strengthen the involvement of the environmental sector in One Health from provincial to local levels
